The LA Arts District has been an enclave for artists and creatives since the 1960s when they began to convert and set up residence in defunct industrial buildings along the west bank of the LA River.
Out of doors, the District’s artful influence is on display in a big way on dozens of exteriors that showcase the talent of muralists and street artists from near and afar.
During a 2.5 hour walking tour, with a local muralist as your guide, you will see 50+ murals spanning 30 years, by artists including LA muralists El Mac and Shepard Fairey of Obama HOPE poster fame.
Tours $12, reservable online via LA Art Tours
