Go underwater sightseeing in this aquamarine playground on Tahoe’s eastern shore, situated across the border in the state of Nevada.
The water is especially clear here and you will be able to spy the secret lives of fish while snorkeling, kayaking or paddleboarding on the surface; or by scuba diving its depths in Divers Cove.
All the while, you will be immersed in a pristine landscape of white granite boulders, alpine evergreens and lovely golden beaches tailor-made for rest and relaxation between swims and frolics in the lake’s summer waters.
Lifeguards on duty Jun-Aug. Restrooms, showers, picnic tables and barbecue grills.
You can rent a kayak or SUP for $25-$95 (life vests included) near the boat ramp May-Oct, 10am-5pm, via Sand Harbor Rentals, (530) 581-4336. June thru August, I recommend reserving your rental online in advance.
Parking $7-$12; fills up lightning fast in summer. I highly suggest arriving just as the park opens to secure a spot, or taking public transportation.
East Shore Express Shuttle, $3 roundtrip, runs every 20 min (9am-8pm) on weekends in June and daily Jul-Aug (departs from 771 Southwood Blvd, Incline Village where you can park for free).
