In 1924, Hugh Comstock, who had no experience or training as an architect or builder, constructed a fairytale cottage for his wife’s successful ragdoll business.Comstock went on to build over 20 whimsical cottages for friends and clients in Carmel, many of which you can still see about town today.
Guided Tour
Tickets $30 for a 2-hr guided walking tour with Carmel Walks; reservable online up to 1 month in advance.
Tours depart Tue-Fri, 10am; Sat, 10am & 2pm. And they commence in the outdoor courtyard of the Pine Inn on Lincoln St and Ocean Ave.

Pick up a free map of cottage locations at the Visitor Center on San Carlos St, between 5th St and 6th St.
