A glimpse inside the trunk, from the roots of a fallen coastal redwood tree, the Dyerville GiantFounders Grove is an easy 0.5 mile trail through an old growth redwood forest that is home to the Dyerville Giant, a gigantic coastal redwood tht stood over 360 feet (109 m) tall — i.e., 200 feet taller than Niagara Falls! — before it fell naturally to the ground in 1991.

You can still see the gigantic tree resting on the forest floor, giving life, in the circle of life, to a micro ecosystem of plants and animals.

The Grove is dedicated to the founders of the Save-the-Redwoods League which, since 1921, has protected 170,000 acres (68,800 ha) of precious redwood forest in California.
