You will have to drive 1.1 miles (1.7 km) on a narrow road to the trailhead, but once there, you can treat yourself to a love 0.7 mile stroll on this loop trail through the largest old growth redwood forest in the world.
Hiking here is a great way to get away from it all, as this trail usually has far less foot traffic than ones on the main Avenue.
For a longer hike, you can continue onto the 7.5 mile (12 km) Bull Creek Loop Trail, which loops around the South Fork Eel River.
