      Get a 360° view of the nation’s largest urban cultural park and the city of San Diego atop the 198-foot (60 m) California Tower.

      The tower is an architectural remnant of a 1915 World’s Fair, which debuted a cardre of ornate, Spanish-style buildings that sparked the Spanish Colonial Revival movement that has inspired the design of homes and buildings in California for over a century, including Beverly Hills City Hall and the infamous Hearst Castle.

      Free guided tours of the Park’s gardens and buildings: Tue & Sun, 11am-noon; meet at the Visitors Center ((619) 239-0512). 1.5-hour audio tour is $5 and can be picked up at the Visitors Center.

      On Sat-Sun and holidays, free parking can be hard to find, so come early or take public transportation

      Take the 7 bus or 215 bus from the Sante Fe Depot train station in downtown San Diego
