A toasted burrito at Kogi TaqueriaLos Angeles is home to the largest Mexican and Korean commuinties outside of Mexico and Korea, so it was only a matter of time before the two cultures merged in a culinary way.

Chef and Kogi BBQ Truck founder, Roy Choi, popularized Korexican-style street food during LA’s gourmet food truck revolution in the late 2000s.

Since then, he has opened several restaurants, including Kogi Taqueria, which serves up Korexican fusions like kimchi quesadillas and carnitas tacos with Korean BBQ sauce.
