A fighter jet on the top deck of the USS Midway aircraft carrierStep onto a World War II era U.S. Navy aircraft carrier that was the largest ship in the world when it first set sail in 1945—too large, even, for the Panama Canal!

The Midway served tours of duty during WWII, the Vietnam War, and the Persian Gulf War.

During a self-guided audio tour of this 69,000 ton stalwart of military history and naval engineering, you can explore over 60 points of interest on the ship’s three decks, including sailors and officer’s quarters; the engine room; and a fleet of retired jets on the flight deck, where you can climb into the cockpit of an actual fighter jet!
